Hello everyone and thank you for visiting my website.

A little bit about me before I begin. My name’s Will and I’ve been a fan of football management games for as long as I can remember. I can remember getting Championship Manager 01/02 for the first time and really liked the game. Since then, I’ve more or less bought every football management game since. I bought Football Manager 2005 and thought that it was an excellent game. 8 years later, I still think it is.

When I found out that you could make competitions in the Football Manager 2010 editor, I realised that I always wanted to take a team from the bottom leagues to the top (I managed this on CM 01/02 with Hull starting in the Conference, took me 8 years to do so). And this is where the story begins.

As a fan of a team in the Bristol Downs League (one of the lowest leagues in the country at Level 24), I decided to make the route to the Premier Division from this league. It was a good first effort of making competitions at the time, but looking back, it was rubbish as I now know more about the editor and what you can do. It worked well though.

After reading many threads of league extensions on the official Sports Interactive forums, I decided to make my own English league expansion down to Level 11. I’ve been planning the database since Football Manager 2013 first came out, and what you see today is the completion of this file. It has taken me longer than I thought it would, but it’s been certainly worth it. As a fan of non-league football, I have been able to research new clubs and grounds I have never heard of.

As for this website, it’s a place where I can post information about the leagues and cup competitions in the game that might not get published elsewhere. There is a downloads page in which the files are kept. Also, I have explained the national cup competitions (FA Cup, FA Trophy, FA Vase) in a separate page so not to interfere with the posts about each level.

If you have any questions, or feedback, please leave me a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thank you,

FCUtdWill

  1. Hi. Great work here. But I was wondering why all level 10 clubs don’t go into the FA Cup? E.g. Cheadle Town. Is it just a lack of compatability with the SI database?

    • Thank you. Not all teams in real life enter the FA Cup, so for example in the North West Counties 1, only 10 (random) teams enter the competition. If I added every single club (down to Level 10) to the FA Cup, it wouldn’t match the 2012-13 FA Cup structure.

  2. Thanks for taking the time to do all this. I was wondering how club finances at level 10 were researched? The majority are on tight budgets but a few have wage budgets exceeding £1k. Do you know if this is the case in real life?

    • No problem. I have a system set for Level 10/11, all Level 10 clubs have the same budget. I tried to get it as realistic as I could, but it’s not perfect. I think for some clubs it could be, depending on how much they pay players. The Level 10 clubs don’t have a wage budget set, so could be why. But I didn’t want to make it so they’re struggling for money or that they have too much.

  3. This looks like a great achievement. I’ve been trying to use a well known unlock to Level 9 but it has made a lot of teams amateur when they are originally semi-pro in the original FM13 database. Considering the game won’t allow you to turn semi-pro from amateur during play, have you made all clubs semi-pro? Or changed the status of any clubs from their original settings?

    • Thank you. All clubs at Levels 1-5 are professional, Levels 6-10 are semi-professional, Level 11 are amateur. If you start at Level 11, and get promoted to Level 10 you turn semi-professional. (Regardless of what level you’re at, if you get promoted you turn semi-professional, I don’t know why but it’s what happens). As for changing any clubs from the original settings, it’s more towards Levels 9 and 10, if they were amateur for example I’ve made them semi-professional.

  4. Great! I tried changing some of the amateur clubs back to semi-pro but it caused an issue where my friend couldn’t join in for multiplayer. Have you had a chance to test your db for multiplayer compatability?

I’ve downloaded your db and had a quick look and it looks good! I’ll hopefully get a little bit of time to play later and test multiplayer and I’ll get back to you.

Also, I will be making kits and club crests as I go if you’re interested.

    • I haven’t tested for multiplayer compatibility as I don’t play that version. Which level teams are you trying to change?

Thank you for the positive feedback.

Yeah sure, that would be a good addition to the database. I don’t know how to make them myself hence why they aren’t in the game.

  5. I was trying to change level 9 teams on a different database, not your one.

Club kits etc are all done separately but can be added in any time. If I ever get it sorted out & uploaded somewhere I’ll let you know.
